The axe that inspired it all! The Z2 bears a striking resemblance to the very first Sozo® prototype built back in late 2004. Rumor has it, this 1 of 1 prototype is displayed in Brian's (Sozo's CEO) office! The Z2 is the staple Sozo®. The idea behind it is simple; It's a guitar of all trades. With key features like Sozo's patented Chambered Body, Flame maple top, String thru construction, and Satin neck, the guitar appeals to players of all genre's. Don't be fooled by the F-hole, as the body is simply chambered on the left and right side. The pickups will react just like that of a full solid body guitar. There is a solid block that runs the length of the body to ensure this fact. The satin neck is something we are very proud of here at Sozo® Guitars. If you've ever picked up a 20-30 year old guitar and felt a neck that has been worn down to the bare wood, you will appreciate this neck part. The satin finish on most of the Sozo® necks will offer you this same result after years of playing. The satin will in time wear away to an almost "glossy" finish, which will then wear to the neck, exposing the bare wood for all to see. You get a set neck tone, with a bolt-on neck feeling!
